The Autumn Book Tag – Movies? + Nightmares

The Autumn Book Tag

The Autumn Book Tag

I’m not sure who started this tag, but I saw it over at Books & Babbles, and thought it looked like fun, so I’m stealing it. Also I have no other ideas for posts right now.

I’m pretty sure my first thought for half the questions is going to be ‘I don’t know.’ or ‘I’m not sure.’ but I’ll try.

What’s your favourite thing about Autumn?

I always love when my classes start up. Although I had a very busy summer this year, most years I spend half the summer wishing that drama and public speaking ran all year.

Also I love that it starts to get colder. I hate being hot. I hate being cold too actually, but if I’m cold I can bundle up… or stay inside…

What book reminds you of your school days?

I’m homeschooled, so nothing really. Although now that I think about it, I do remember reading The Giver with my homeschool group… It’s not a particularly pleasant memory though.

I’m not sure how old I was, but I wasn’t ready for it. It freaked me out, and I hated it. I think if I’d read it a few years later, I would have enjoyed it, but I was just too young.

It also didn’t help, that someone SPOILED IT! Seriously, a group of people is reading a book, and you know exactly where most of the people are in it, and you mention something, that happens to be A LARGE SPOILER. I am so NOT happy.*

*It’s probably a really good thing I can’t remember who it was.

TerrierWhat cover reminds you of autumn?

Terrier, by Tamora Pierce. The book itself has nothing to do with autumn, but the cover is pretty, and orange, and just sort of autumn-y.

Also there’s a black cat, so that’s sort of halloween-y. I can pretend I didn’t just notice that in the past five seconds.

The SwallowWhat’s you’re favourite horror or halloween story?

Er… I don’t read horror. Like, at all. I get scared a bit too easily for that.

There was this one book though, called The Swallow that I guess was vaguely halloween-y*… It doesn’t exactly count as a favourite. I hated it actually. It freaked me out SO much. I’m not really sure why… it just did. But I read it three years ago or something, and it still gives me nightmares. And yes, it was a middle grade book. I swear the only purpose of tags is to embarrass me.

*Why do I keep using this word?!

What’s your favourite horror or halloween film?

Remember what I just said about scary books? That applies even more to movies. Also, isn’t this a book tag?!?! Movies and books are DIFFERENT THINGS!

RenegadesWhat fall book releases are you looking forward to?

I basically have no clue what’s going on in the bookish world. I don’t really have a clue what’s coming out this fall.

I do have one big one though. Renegades, by Marissa Meyer.
I adored The Lunar Chronicles, and as soon as I heard about Renegades,* I knew I needed to read it. It sounds super good, and also, MARISSA MEYER!

*Which was like.. two or three weeks ago.

What autumn movie releases are you looking forward to?

To tell the truth, I’m not a huge movie person. I enjoy watching movies, but I literally couldn’t care less about new releases. Also, WHY is there questions about movies?!?! This is a BOOK tag!!

I do have one movie release I’m looking forward to, and it does come out in the fall… just not… this fall.

The next Fantastic Beast movie. I want to see it so badly, and I DON’T want to wait a whole year. Because the first one was SO good, and I need this one so desperately!!!

What are three books you plan to read this Autumn?

I already did a post about my Autumn tbr, but I’ll list three different ones here.

Ink and Bone  Mockingjay  Clockwork Prince

  1. Ink and Bone, by Rachel Caine. I own this, so I should be able to read it soon. And it sounds super good… I just need to get around to it.
  2. Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins. I really need to actually read this… I read the first two, and I liked them, but for some reason I haven’t read this one yet… oops.
  3. Clockwork Prince, by Cassandra Clare. I WANT TO READ THIS SO BAD!!! Like, sososososososo bad! The first book was so amazing, and I just need it.

So that’s it! I’m not going to tag anyone, because I just give up. I can never think of more than one or two people… and that’s just sort of lame… But feel free to steal this tag if you want!

What’s on your Fall tbr? Do you like Fantastic Beasts? What’s the scariest book you’ve ever read?

  1. I DO LOVE FANTASTIC BEASTS ACTUALLY. I’m also hoping to read TID this fall! As well as An Enchantment of Ravens, Godsgrave, Blackhearts, Song of the Current and Scythe!! Hmmm I don’t think I’ve ever read a TRULY scary book. I prefer to stick with scary movies!

    • Yeah, Fantastic Beasts is great!
I’ve never really read many scary books either… just that one that freaked me out… but like, it wasn’t really that scary, I’m just a bit strange sometimes.

  2. Renegades sounds SO GOOD, I can’t wait to read it either. I’m a huge fan of the Lunar Chronicles series as well, I can’t wait to read this new book 🙂 I heard lots of great things about Ink and Bone, it is on my TBR as well, can’t wait for both of us to read it 😀
    Lovely answers! 🙂

    • I just NEED to read Renegades! It sounds super amazing, and I’m SO impatient. Yeah, so many people say Ink and Bone is amazing, and it sounds super interesting, and I’m really not sure why I haven’t read it yet.
