Ten Places in the Wizarding World I Would Love to Visit!
Ten Places in the Wizarding World I Would Love to Visit!
Wow, I haven’t posted all week, I am so sorry. I’ve been absolutely swamped, not to mention I’ve been sick, and I just didn’t have time.
Once again, I’m linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is ‘Ten Bookish Settings I’d Love to Visit‘, but I’m rereading Harry Potter right now, so I’m going to talk about ten locations in the wizarding world that I want visit instead.
1 – The Room of Requirement
I’m not going to say Hogwarts, because that’s very obvious, but I will have lots of locations around Hogwarts.
I would really love to see the Room of Requirement. It’s sort of really cool, not to mention all the important events that happen in it.
Also, random thought that’s just occurring to me now… I could argue that I need a lot of books… hmmm… Could the Room of Requirement supply all my books for me? Because that would be seriously awesome!
2 – Flourish and Blotts
This seems somewhat self explanatory. It’s the wizarding world’s bookstore for goodness sakes! Of course I want to visit it! I could read all the books that are mentioned!
For Instance:
- Hogwarts: A History! I could read Hogwarts: A History!
- All of Lockhart’s books. Sure, he’s a liar, and didn’t really do any of those things, but admit it, you want to read his books. Or is that just me?
- Charm Your Own Cheese. What? I like the title. And I want to know how to charm mown cheese. What sort of charms do you put on cheese anyways? Charms to make it last longer? Or taste better? Or what?
- Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches. Ummmm… I’m curious? Okay? And I sort of like the title. And honestly I have no clue why I want to read this. But I do.
- The Monster Book of Monsters. Now that I know to stroke* it, I shouldn’t have any trouble reading it, so I bet it would be interesting. Also I could own a biting book. That would be sort of awesome.
All those books I could get, and that’s just a few of the ones that were mentioned. I bet they have fiction too**… I want.
*Wow, I can’t spell, I totally just wrote that as stork.
**Well, Lockhart’s sort of count as fiction already… But other fiction as well.
3 – Hagrid’s Hut
I think this is really just my way of saying I want to meet Hagrid, but… well, I would want to meet him in his hut. I could see his ginormous pumpkins. And just, well, his hut actually sounds really cool.
4 – The Quidditch Pitch
Ideally while a game is in progress.
I really hate sports for the most part, but Quidditch is a whole other thing entirely. I LOVE Quidditch. It’s probably the flying brooms mostly. Or possibly the fact that it’s from a book makes it so much better in my opinion.
I don’t know, but I do know that I’d give an awful lot to see a Quidditch game. But if I couldn’t, honestly I would still love to at least see the pitch. It would be so cool!
5 – Platform Nine and Three Quarters
It feels to me like Platform Nine and Three Quarters is where the magic all begins. Sure, they go to Diagon Alley first, but Platform Nine and Three Quarters is the start of each school year. It’s where a lot of my favourite characters come in as well. Harry met the Weasley’s for the first time on Platform Nine and Three Quarters, he met Hermione, and Neville, and Luna on the train, he met Lupin on the train, so much happens there.
Also you walk through as wall to get to it. I want to walk through a wall. It would be cool.*
*Wow that sounded weird. ‘I want to walk through a wall, it would be cool’ Okaaaayyyyyyy Iris. But I do want to walk through a wall. Or at least that wall.
6 – The Great Hall
The Great Hall sounds amazing! It’s probably one of my favourite rooms in Hogwarts.
First of all, it’s where the feasts all take place, and I would LOVE to be there for a feast. SO. MUCH. FOOD. And it sounds so delicious too. I truly don’t know how anyone would not want to go to a feast at Hogwarts.
Second of all, the ceiling. In case you weren’t aware, the ceiling in The Great Hall is designed to look lie the sky outside. It would probably be sort of boring on a nice sunny day, but I’d love to see it when it’s cloudy, or raining, or snowing, or at nighttime, or anything really. It just sounds so spectacular.
7 – The Common Rooms
Specifically, the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff common rooms, but I’d love to see Ravenclaw and Slytherin as well.
I want to see Gryffindor because of all the times it’s in HP. They spend so much time there, and… I want to see it.
Hufflepuff because I’m a proud Hufflepuff, and they never even visit the Hufflepuff common room, so… it’s only natural I’d want to go there.
Ravenclaw and Slytherin just because it would be cool. And it’s Harry Potter. No other reason needed.
8 – Honeydukes
It’s the candy store. The magical candy store. Of course I want to go to Honeydukes. I really don’t need any other reason, do I?
I can’t say I want to try all the candies they have… Cockroach Clusters sound disgusting, and blood flavoured lollipops? No thanks. But some of the others? Sign me up.
9 – Zonkos and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes
These are very different stores I’m sure, but they’re both joke shops, and I’m running out of space, so… I’m putting them together.
Zonkos is the first of the two, and I would love to visit it, because some of the things it has sound wonderful.*
Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes however, is even higher on my list. I love the Weasley twins, and some of their things are truly spectacular. I think going into their store might qualify as dangerous, but I want to anyways. It would be too good an opportunity to pass up.
*I want a nose biting teacup.
10 – The Three Broomsticks
I want to go to The Three Broomsticks really bad. Mostly because of Butterbeer. I’ve tried Butterbeer at Universal studios, and it was good, but not amazing, however I am quite convinced that true, authentic Butterbeer from the wizarding world would be much better. It would have to be, they have magic after all.
So those are ten of the places I’d love to visit in the wizarding world. Of course, it doesn’t even come close to covering it, but this post is already very long, so I’ll leave it at that.
Oh my goodness, YES! Obviously I want to go to Hogwarts (if only it was real *sighs*) BUT I ALSO WANT TO VISIT ALL THESE PLACES YOU MENTIONED: Hagrid’s hut???? YES. Flourish and Botts!!! The iconic Great Hall!!! Please can I just have a huge feast there to celebrate my birthday or something??? AND PLATFORM 9 3/4!!! AHHHHH I WANT TO EXPERIENCE GOING THROUGH A WALL. AND GETTING ON THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS. Wow, now I’m super sad that Hogwarts isn’t real XD

I’m still holding out hope for my letter… maybe they forgot about me, and I’m going to get it four years late? Maybe? I wish at least…
