Q – Do you feel like there is a correlation between the books you have liked best and the reviews that you are happiest with?

A – Actually no. Sometimes yes I guess, but I usually find I have a really hard time doing justice with my reviews of my favourites, where as the reviews of the 2-4 star books are way easier to write, maybe because I have a mix of good and bad things to say? But yeah, it’s really hard to do a book justice when I think it’s utterly perfect, so I actually often find I’m not that pleases with my reviews of the books I loved.

Q – Has keeping the blog changed the way that you experience reading books?

A – Sort of… I think it’s made me a slightly more critical reader, and also I’m constantly thinking of how I’m going to review/rate it while I’m reading. But they’re very little changes, and they don’t really affect the overall experience for me.

Q – Have you noticed a consistent trend or change in your reviews over time?

A – I think once again, I’m slightly more critical now, so that’s a change… I used to not have anything bad to say in my reviews, even if I didn’t like the book. I just either had trouble pinpointing what I disliked, or I felt too mean to say anything bad. Sooo… I think it’s probably a positive change, as it’s really just that my reviews are more articulate now than they used to be.

As for trends… Most of my really good reviews are just incoherent shrieking.

Q – Does keeping the blog effect how widely you are prone to read?

A – I think keeping a blog has made me both a much more open minded reader, and also a much more picky reader… On the one hand, I have so many books on my TBR already that I very rarely pick up a book I haven’t at least heard of before. On the other hand though, I’m reading much more broadly genre-wise than I used to. Such as, not just fantasy. I tend to be open to just about any genre now, which I wasn’t really before I started blogging.

Q – If you had to pick the world of any book you’ve read to live in which would it be?

A – Red London from Shades of Magic. It was so rich, and lush, and gorgeous, and beautiful, and I want to live there SO bad. Live in Red London, and go to school at Hogwarts. And this is a valid choice, okay? I could be an Antari and go from Red London to Grey London, where I could then catch The Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts. This is completely logical, and you really can’t deny it. And I mean, the small time gap of a couple hundred years between when I want to go to Hogwarts and when I want to live in Red London isn’t going to be a problem at all. Obviously.

Q – If you could choose any book character to have as a third parent who would it be?

A – I mean, I’m pretty happy with my parents, but I also really loved Molly’s parents in The Upside of Unrequited. And no, I’m not choosing just one of them. I liked them both. They were pretty awesome parents. (Haha, I haven’t read this book for a while, so I think I remember them pretty well… I know I liked them anyways.)

Q – If you could live the plotline of a book as any character, which character and book would you choose and why?

A – Ummm… Something light and fluffy and happy with no murders or quests. Sooo…? Wow, I really don’t read a lot of books like that… Cath from Fangirl? Nah, she made some stupid decisions I would never make. (*cough cough* that assignment. You know the one.) Ummm… Someone from one of Jennifer E Smith’s books maybe? Or ooh! What’s her face from This Adventure Ends. That was light and fluffy. What was her name? Sloane? Maybe? Hahaha, oops, I have no idea.

Q – Is there a book character you would like to have as a friend or sibling?

A – All the Simon Vs and Upside characters… Particularly Simon and Abby and Blue, but also Leah and Molly and Reid. Can I just be part of this amazing group of friends please? And like, Molly and Reid too, even though they aren’t technically part of that group? Pleeeaaaase?!

Q – Do you sometimes choose to read a book because you want to feature it on your blog?

A – Nope. I just read whatever I feel like. I will sometimes choose to write a more in-depth review, or write my review much sooner than I otherwise would have because I want to put it on my blog, but I choose what I read solely based on how interesting it sounds.

Q – If you could own one article of clothing from a book what would it be?

A – Kell’s coat. I mean, duh. I know, I know, this is like the most cliche answer there is, but I REALLY WANT IT, okay? His coat is amazing. It’s just so awesome, and I think just about every bookworm I know feels the same way.

Q – If you could ask one question of any book character what/who would it be?

A – One? I can’t choose. I would just really like to ask all my favourite characters a bunch of little questions that we never got answer, like ‘What’s your favourite colour?’ and ‘What is your earliest memory?’ and ‘What’s your favourite book?’. Because I just want to know those things, okay?

Q – What book you’ve read had the biggest effect on your world view?

A – The Hate U Give. It was SUCH an eye opening powerful book, and just wow. It definitely changed the way I thought about a lot of things.

Q – If you could shoot any object into space what would it be?

A – A really bad book. For two reasons: One, there would be a random book floating in space, which would be pretty cool. Two, there would be one less copy of the book on earth. I mean, I have yet to find a book I hate quite that much, but even if I just didn’t like it… there would still be plenty of copies left… and they can always print more… and there would still be one less copy on earth… 😀

Q – What is your favorite character you do not think you’d get along with and why?

A – Honestly a lot of my favourite characters. My favourite characters have a tendency to be criminals.

I don’t think I would get along particularly well with Kaz Brekker. I love him, but… I mean he would probably rob me the second I set foot in the Barrel… And that would probably leave me with a bit of a grudge against him…

But he’s still one of my favourite characters, and I mean honestly he’s a big sweetie inside… I just doubt I would get to know him well enough to see that, so I would probably hate him if I were to actually meet him (without having already read about him of course… I could never hate him NOW. But like, if I didn’t know he was Kaz Brekker, or if I hadn’t read Six of Crows…).

Q – If you could recommend one book to everyone on the planet, what would it be?

A – The Hate U Give. It’s such an eye-opening book, and I think everyone should read it. It’s probably the one book that I would say should universally be read by everyone.

And since I already gave that as an answer, I’ll also mention the one book I do recommend to pretty much everyone who hasn’t read it… Harry Potter. I swear, if someone says they haven’t read it, I will instantly try and convince them that they should read it. Immediately. And then offer to lend it to them.

Q – If you could live a day as any non-humanoid from a book who would it be?

A – A dragon! A big, flying, fire-breathing dragon! No specific dragon or anything, just a dragon. Because dragons are amazing.
