Book Review: I’ll Give You the Sun – All the Art + I almost DNF’d this?!?!
I’ll Give You the Sun

I’ll Give You the Sun was such an amazing book! I was sobbing so hard, and just AHSKAGDHGAKGDKAFKHSKDSFSDJHKFGSKFKS!!!!
For the first half of the book, I honestly couldn’t even bring myself to care, and then, all of a sudden, it was absolutely spectacular! Because of this, I had a difficult time deciding what to rate it.
The second half of the book? Amazing. Wonderful. Marvellous. Insanely good.
The first half though? Bleh. I was so bored. In fact, I almost DNF’d it. WOW, am I glad I didn’t!

The writing was SO beautiful! It was just… I don’t even know. It was lovely though. There was so many absolutely beautiful lines, and wow! That’s all I have to say about it, WOW!
The plot was also really interesting. It was told alternating perspectives, between two twins, Noah and Jude. Noah’s chapters take place when they’re thirteen, and Jude’s when they’re sixteen. Slowly, you start to figure out what happened in-between. It’s so intriguing, and I believe it’s the only reason I bothered to finish. It starts out with a chapter from Noah, and then you get one from Jude’s perspective, and SO much has changed. From then, I knew I needed to know what had happened, and I had to finish, no matter how much I hated it. Thank goodness for intriguing plots.

My favourite thing about this though, was of course, the characters.
Did I mention I love Jude?
*Gah, I hate character names!

Overall, I’ll Give You the Sun was and amazing book. Yes, I was bored to death at first, but once I got into it, it was so spectacular! I think this is an absolute must read book for everyone. It was just… wow. Wow, wow, wow!

I’m reading it right now! So, I can’t read your post until I’m finished the book!

Wow! You’re right. Wow. I’d love to talk with you about this book when we get a chance. One thing’s for sure – I’m not as scared about you reading my memoir as I once was. This time next year, you’ll know all my secrets too. Love you, xo.

I completely agree! This is such an amazing book and I’m so glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. 🙂 And haha I was the same way at the beginning – I almost DNF’d it too for the same reason as you, but I’m so glad we both decided to continue. xD Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous review! ❤

YES I LOVE THIS ONE TOO!! It’s one of my all-time favourite books and just FLAWS me with the gorgeous writing. 😍😍 Perfect book is PERFECT. I loved Noah a lot, but I hated Brian, ugh. And I hated how mean the twins were to each other like stahp you precious children pls get along. ❤️💔

I liked Brian right up to the point they actually got together, and then I was just like “How about no?” He was awful to Noah, and Noah deserved much better.

Hmm. I’ve noticed people have had very different opinions about this book – I think it may be because what you said about the beginning of it – a slow start. I think that flowery language can get in the way for some people as well. I’m glad you stuck through and really liked it! 🙂

Yeah, I nearly DNF’d this, and if I had, I think I would have given it a really low rating, and I can definitely see how the flowery language could also make someone not like it… it’s a really unique book, and I guess it’s not for everyone.
