Top Ten Books on my Winter TBR

Top Ten Books on my Winter TBR

Once again, I am linking up with Top Ten Tuesday, hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish! This weeks theme is ‘Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR‘. For some reason, I feel like I’m going to have no problem getting ten the time… wow, I wonder why?

I didn’t do too poorly with my Fall tbr, but still, maybe I can do a bit better with this one… I read five and… two halves. Maybe this time I can read like, all ten? Or at least eight or nine or something? Maybe? that would be nice…

Tempests and SlaughterTess of the Road1 – Tempests and Slaughter

by Tamora Pierce

This is one of my most anticipated releases, and it’s coming out in February, so I plan to read it as soon as it comes in the mail, and… yeah, it’s definitely on my winter tbr. It’s about a character that I really love from a series I love, and it’s his backstory, AND I NEED IT!! Because his backstory sounds so interesting, and oh my gosh, I need this so bad. Also that cover. I am in love.

2 – Tess of the Road

by Rachel Hartman

This is another of my anticipated releases, and it’s also coming out in February, so I’m hoping to read it this winter, but I might not get around to it until spring… I’m not sure. It’s a spinoff of a series that I like, and it has DRAGONS, and a gorgeous cover, and I like the protagonist already, after only having read the blurb, so… I think this is going to be amazing, and I hope I get to read it sooner rather than later.

InsurgentOur Dark Duet3 – Insurgent

by Veronica Roth

So… I didn’t really like Divergent. But, I do want to know what happens, because I sort of like some of the characters… If not Tris, then some of the others at least. I really should just get it over with and read this, but… I just don’t want to. Technically I already started this, but I’m not even fifty pages in, and I haven’t read ANY of it for who knows how long, so I think it still counts.

4 – Our Dark Duet

by Victoria Schwab

I read This Savage Song a couple months ago, and it was SO GOOD!!! I immediately put a hold on ODD, but I still haven’t gotten it, and I want it so bad!!! There’s only one person in front of me, so I should get it fairly soon, but I am SO impatient!

King's CageGeekerella5 – King’s Cage

by Victoria Aveyard

I didn’t love the first two books in this series, and they were certainly somewhat unoriginal, but I enjoyed them well enough, and CLIFFHANGER!! So… I want to finish the series. I have a hold on this one as well, but there is a LOT of people in front go me, so, although I’m hoping it will come sooner rather than later, I may or may not get it this winter.

6 – Geekerella

by Ashley Poston

This sounds super awesome, because it just has so many aspects that sounds absolutely wonderful! First of all, it’s a Cinderella retelling, and I love retellings, so that sounds lovely. Second of all, it sounds super relatable. One main character is a huge fan of some TV show or movie or something, and the other character is an actor in it… I feel like the fangirling aspect will obviously be really relatable, but I also really love acting, and I think that part has even more of a draw for me… I’ve never really read a book about an actor before, and I’d really like to.

The Last OlympianSaturdays at Sea7 – The Last Olympian

by Rick Riordan

So… yeah, I still haven’t finished this series. Really, I quite enjoy it, but for some reason I’m getting through it at an incredibly slow pace. I think I’ll probably manage to read this at some point this winter, but who knows really… I hope so anyways.

8 – Saturdays at Sea

by Jessica Day George

This was one of my absolute favourite series when I was younger, and I was really looking forward to this book… and then by the time it came out, I found I’d outgrown the series, and just didn’t care anymore. I still enjoy the series, and sort of want to know what happens, but not enough to buy it. I found it on Kindle for cheap though, so now all I need to do is get around to reading it. It’s pretty short, so I’ll probably read it in a day once I do, I just haven’t bothered yet.

Half BadThe Silver Chair9 – Half Bad

by Sally Green

I opened this, saw that it was in second person, read the first page, and gave up. I just felt so disconnected, and… just couldn’t bring myself to read any further.

However, I am still hoping to read it, so I want to give it another try. I just… can’t bring myself to pick it up.

10 – The Silver Chair

by C. S. Lewis

I borrowed this from a friend about six months ago, and I still haven’t read it… oops. I really mean to, I just don’t enjoy Narnia very much… I’m going to try and read it, but it’s just so boring!

But I borrowed it from someone, so I really should read it soon, and then, like, give it back. But… I need to motivate myself first. Gah, I’ll read it at some point, but it might be a while.

So, that’s my winter tbr… I’ll probably end up only reading half of these, and reading everything else instead, but I’ll try. And maybe I’ll at least read some of them. I hope. It also occurs to me that most of these are sequels… for whatever reason… I don’t really know how this is at all relevant, but more ethan half of them are sequels, and I’m tired, so I’m rambling. Stop it Iris.

What’s on your winter TBR? Have you read any of these? Which should I read first?
